Services

At Swain Family Medicine we work to assist patients to manage the symptoms of a long-term disease with an integrated care approach which includes screenings, check-ups, monitoring and coordinating treatment, and patient education.

At Swain Family Medicine we routinely perform physical examinations to determine the general status of a patient’s health. It gives patients the opportunity to talk to Dr. Swain about any ongoing pain or symptoms that they may be experiencing or any other health concerns, catch up on vaccinations, or have a potentially serious health condition, like cancer or diabetes, detected early.

For the convenience of our patients at Swain Family Medicine, we perform a number of diagnostic tests including ECG, PFT, Influenza, Strep, and Pregnancy.

Blood work at Swain Family Medicine is provided by Quest Diagnostics.

About Dr. Swain

Dr. Bernice R Swain, a native of Talladega, AL., is a Family Practice Specialist in Decatur, Alabama. She graduated with honors from Philadelphia College Of Osteopathic Medicine in 1988 and has more than 28 years of diverse experience in Family Practice.

Dr. Swain is a member of The American Osteopathic Association, She enjoys traveling and the outdoors and has a heart for giving back to the community’s youth. A member of the Dorcas Circle and attends church locally.

Dr. Swain is currently attending Whitesburg Baptist Bible College where she received a certificate in Biblical Studies. She is currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Biblical Counseling.
